MURDOCK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
A regular Board meeting was held, October 13, 2004, at the residence of Trixie Johnson. Attendees: Trixie Johnson, Bob Fanjoy, Larry Murchan, Doris Livezey and Mori Mandis.
- Meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by First Vice-President Bob Fanjoy.
- Last board minutes were approved and placed on the website.
- Old Business
- Fliers for General Meeting on October 27 at Lynbrook High School: 1,000 fliers will be printed at the Neighborhood Development Center and distributed by the Block Captains. Will continue placing the notice in realtor’s newsletters and the San Jose Mercury News.
- Traffic Committee Update: Harli Rabow will be asked to speak on updates that have taken place since their last meeting. Proposal of signs for a passenger loading zone with specific hours has been recommended. Harli will be asked to have a traffic committee meeting will all of the committee members before October 27th general meeting.
- Treasurer’s Report, Judy Boehm: Account opened at Washington Mutual. Account
donations and membership dues total: $721.09
A family membership card was introduced at the September 22 meeting and serves as a receipt. The card includes name, web-site, email address, family membership name, date and expiration date of October 2005. - San Jose Beautiful and SV Community Foundation grant projects. Discussion of having MNA members to come up with ideas for future projects through the newsletter. Trixie will work with Suzanne Malone on creating a possible contest to get the membership to come up with their ideas for the neighborhood.
- Membership Campaign Strategies: There was a request for members to join and develop ideas regarding a membership drive. It was mentioned that Block Captains and the Board would do a door-to-door campaign.
- General Meeting on October 27 will be a “special meeting”. Business
portion 7:15-7:30pm, Speakers 7:30-8:30pm, MNA discussions-open forum, 8:30-9:00
pm.
Speakers will be asked to be prepared for three questions:- Current budget numbers
- Where the monies will be distributed
- Senior exemption process
- Bob will ask the school superintendent’s secretary for the expected date of the
Cupertino school sign for Murdock-Portal Elementary School for a neighborhood association
dedication party.

Measure O Parcel Tax, speaker Rick Hausman from CUSD
Measure L Parcel Tax, speaker Steve Rowley from FUHSD
Measure S Library Parcel Tax, speaker Trixie Johnson - Update on traffic/and trail update
- Refreshments will be provided by the board.
- New Committees: Welcome Wagon/Hospitality Committee new chairs: Cheryl Pace and Edee Miyahara. Members, who are interested in participating in the association, please contact a board member or email: mna-information@murdockna.org.
- Proposal that Newsletter to develop and maintain a calendar showing cultural
festivals of neighborhood diversity.

- Meeting adjourned at 10:40 p.m. Next Board meeting on November 10, 2004, residence of Doris Livezey.
