Murdock Neighborhood Association Board Meeting - Minutes
October 10th, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 8:00p by President Larry Murchan at the home of Gabe Trejo

Board members present: Doris Livezey, George Zhu, Cathy Draper, Larry Murchan, and Gabe Trejo

Old Business

• [1] Newsletter
  • [1.1] Larry confirmed speaker from San Jose Crime Prevention Unit [End of 1.1]
  • [1.2] Chappie confirmed by phone he has an AT&T representative to speak [End of 1.2]
  • [1.3] Newsletter will be finalized with Cathy by Thursday so George can print on Friday [End of 1.3]
  • [1.4] Newsletters will be distributed over the weekend, Larry will coordinate distribution using existing distribution list [End of 1.4]
  • [1.5] Gabe will make sure to get final copies of newsletter and ballots (75 copies) to George for printing [End of 1.5]

• [2] Nominating committee
  • [2.1] Currently there are vacancies on the slate of candidates. Doris will be out of town until after the general meeting so the board will resume the recruiting effort [End of 2.1]
  • [2.2] Current vacancies include: Second Vice President and Recording Secretary, for a description of roles please see the bylaws posted at http://murdockna.org/murdock_bylaws.shtml [End of 2.2]
  • [2.3] If you know a current MNA member that would make a good candidate, please nominate them at the general meeting on October 24th. [End of 2.3]
  • [2.4] Members that are paid will check in and receive a ballot, you must have paid at least one quarter in advance to vote [End of 2.4]

  • [3.1] Doris will call Lynbrook and find out what we are allowed to have for refreshments in the choir room and she will also talk to mark about getting water [End of 3.1]
  • [3.2] Include in the agenda an introduction for Kavya Shankar of the local Youth Advisory Counsel [End of 3.2]
  • [3.3] Social hour will start at 6:30p and program will start at 7:00p [End of 3.3]
  • [3.4] Chappie has volunteered for setting up the street signs [End of 3.4]
  • [3.5] Order of events will be: Welcome, Elections, AT&T Rep., SJPD Rep., Open Forum [End of 3.5]

• [1] Murdock Neighborhood is allowed two representatives and two alternates for Pete Constant’s District 1 Leadership Committee. Possible Candidates include Bob Fanjoy, Mori Mandis, Doris Livezey. Are you interested? Please contact the board at mna-board@gmail.com [End of 1]
