Murdock Neighborhood Association Board Meeting - Minutes
November 6th, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:35p by President Doris Livezey at the home of Doris Livezey

Board members present: Harish Chinai, Mori Mandis, Kathy Herington, Doris Livezey, and Gabe Trejo

Welcome

[1] Treasurer’s report pending approval until next meeting [End of 1]
[2] Mori suggested drafting a budget for the upcoming year [End of 2]
[3] Kathy will reconcile the report and update it with all new members from the Summer Picnic, National Night Out, and last general meeting [End of 3]
[4] Larry, Jenny, Doris, and Kathy will go to the bank to get Signature Cards updated [End of 4]

[1] Mori will edit the newsletter and content [End of 1]
[2] Gabe will print and distribute newsletter and manage email list, Mori has list of previous block captains for distribution [End of 2]
[3] Doris will coordinate with Judy Boehm for the general meetings at Lynbrook High School [End of 3]
[4] Doris will make initial contact with new Murdock-Portal principal to introduce MNA [End of 4]
[5] Kathy has volunteered to help on the traffic committee, possibility of forming a committee to have traffic studies conducted in our area [End of 5]

[2] General meeting in July may be changed to another month pending venue availability [End of 2]
[3] Summer picnic is tentatively scheduled for July 26th [End of 3]
[4] Upcoming Guest Speakers
- [4.1] Doris will contact PG&E Grid Engineer to speak on power outages [End of 4.1]
- [4.2] Mori will contact Earth Shakes rep to speak on emergency preparedness and possibly bring ready made kits to our meeting [End of 4.2]

[5] Doris will contact the other neighborhood associations to invite them to our meeting [End of 5]

[1] Three trees were removed from the park by the city, they will be replaced this Saturday by Our City Forest [End of 1]
[2] Doris has agreed to sponsor the new trees, she may ask for help maintaining them [End of 2]

[1] There are 40 new trees in the Lockhaven area to be planted, on Saturday there will be a planting effort [End of 1]
[2] Some applications have been sent to Our City Forest, Doris is trying to organize the planting effort in the Murdock area [End of 2]
[3] We do have a database with addresses for all the affected parcels [End of 3]

[1] There is a new principal at Murdock-Portal we need to team up with to resolve traffic issues [End of 1]
[2] Doris will setup traffic monitoring with SJPD during peak traffic hours [End of 2]
[3] Kathy will request a speed machine set up on Castle Glen [End of 3]

[1] Bob Fanjoy and Mori Mandis will be our voting members, Doris Livezey is the alternate [End of 1]
[2] D1 Leadership meetings are open to the public [End of 2]
[3] There is grant money available for future projects, this group will lead us through the application process [End of 3]

[1] We have someone that is interested in the Second Vice President position, Mori will forward the info to Doris so she can meet her [End of 1]
[2] Larry has volunteered to continue helping with the tree committee [End of 2]
[3] Margie and Larry Murchan have volunteered to continue their great work with our summer picnic [End of 3]
[4] Duties currently open:
- [4.1] Setting up realtor signs for General Meetings [End of 4.1]
- [4.2] Coordination for National Night Out [End of 4.2]
