MNA Street Tree Planting 2005

Fourteen new
street trees provided by
Our City Forest now
enhance our neighborhood. Twelve Murdock families worked alongside representatives from
Volunteer Tree Amigos and Conservation Corps to plant the trees on Saturday, March 5.
Four species were planted:
magnolia,
Chinese pistache,
Autumn purple ash and
flowering pear. In some
cases, the work was done totally by the volunteers to aid the elderly. As part of the
agreement, residents will water and weed and monitor the stakes on their trees. All homes
in the Murdock neighborhood without a street tree were offered the opportunity to
participate in this project, which was organized by MNA Board Member Doris Livezey.
